Young Families Program Coordinator

Job Description

The young families program coordinator (Part-Time) will be required to support and help deliver high quality Jewish educational experiences that invite and excite young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support PJ Library Director on existing programs.
  • Deliver innovative and engaging programs for young families around Jewish themes (for example Kabbalat Shabbat, Storytime, Festivals)
  • Attend large communal events and festivals to promote PJ Library and implement high-quality activities, for example: Jewish Food Festival, Yom Ha’atzmaut.
  • Manage PJ Library inventory by maintaining equipment, purchasing resources required and packing/unpacking before and after events.
  • Maintain data relating to each event
  • Support marketing events including advertising on social media and sharing with schools and communal organisations
  • Occasional visits to regional communities to deliver young family programs, build relationships and form Jewish connections.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring creativity and innovation to their work.
  • Be highly organised and display effective time management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning & coordination, marketing, administration, or work with families with young children
  • Be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative as well as work collaboratively with others.
  • Be sensitive to and display a thorough understanding of the needs of both young children and families.
  • Available to work one Sunday per month.
  • Communicate effectively with families, volunteers, staff members and community organisations
  • Understand and be able to utilise various social media platforms.
  • Ongoing maintenance of program evaluation and organisational impact strategies.

 

Desired qualities include:

  • Knowledge of child development, early childhood education, and family.
  • Knowledge of the Sydney Jewish community and culture

 

Other Requirements:

  • Current WWCC & First Aid
  • Position requires drivers licence and the use of a car to travel to events and purchase resources.
  • Hours are flexible with some weekend & after hour attendance at programs, meetings and events required.
